Scoring Process

Each participant and Evaluation Panel member responsible for scoring and commenting on your application will use the same scoring tool, our Trait Scoring Rubric, which consists of four criteria: engagement, illumination, difficulty, and creativity. We encourage you to review the rubric so you understand what judges will be looking for when reviewing your submission.

During the Peer-to-Peer Review, each submission will receive five reviews from other participants who have also submitted a complete and valid application. In addition to receiving scores and comments for each trait, the submission will also receive a final Grade Score, ranging between 0-100, that provides an overall assessment of quality.

During the Evaluation Panel review, each of the top 75 submissions (as determined by the Peer-to-Peer Review), will receive an additional 5 reviews from members of the Evaluation Panel.

Scores in both reviews will be calculated using a normalization algorithm that ensures a level playing field for everyone.
